Earlier this week, Jon was injured surfing when the fin of his board collided with his face. After around 30 stitches and a few days of rest, he is back out singing with the rest of the band. Switchfoot has been nominated for two Dove awards. 1) Rock Recorded Song of the Year "The Sound (John M Perkins Blues)", and 2) Recorded Music Packaging for Hello Hurricane.

The band is currently in the studio recording their eighth full-length studio album Vice Verses.  The album is scheduled to be released this Summer.

5/15/08:  Switchfoot wrote and recorded a brand new song "This Is Home" for the upcoming movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian". The song will be played during the end credits of the movie, and it is also on the soundtrack. The band shot a music video for the song which also features clips from the movie, you can view it here.

Tuesday night Switchfoot performed "This Is Home" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. If you missed their performance, you can view the entire episode on NBC's website here (choose Tue May 13th episode).

Last month Switchfoot performed "This Is Home" at the 39th Annual Dove Awards Ceremony, and they also took home 3 awards while they were there. The band won awards for Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for "Awakening", Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for Oh! Gravity, and Short Form Music Video of the Year for "Awakening". Congratulations, guys!

If you watch American Idol you may have noticed finalist contestant David Cook singing Switchfoot's "Dare You To Move" on Tuesday night's show. Pretty cool that David chose the song to perform and that one of the judges, Randy, expressed his love for the band!

3/27/08:  Switchfoot's lead singer and main songwriter, Jon Foreman, has begun releasing a series of solo EP's. Fall, Winter, and Spring (the first 3 in a series of 4) are now available for download from www.JonForeman.com, iTunes, AmazonMP3, etc. Fall and Winter have been released on physical CDs, and Spring and the upcoming Summer will be released this Summer to complete the set.

Jon is also collaborating with Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek fame to release a side project together this year under the official name of "Fiction Family".

Last night MTV premiered the special Switchfoot episode of Hard Rock Live.  The 30 minute show features parts of a live Switchfoot concert taped in Orlando, FL.  If you missed it, don't worry, the show will re-air a few more times on MTV and MTV2 in the next few days.

10/29/04:  As some of you may have heard, Jon has been involved in a friend (Daniel Victor)'s musical project called Neverending White Lights.  Click here to watch a video featuring an interview with Jon, live clips of "On Fire" (the song was co-written by the pair), and a live acoustic performance of "Throwing Chairs" performed (and co-written) by Jon and Daniel.

On Sunday November 14th, Switchfoot will perform at the halftime show for the MLS Cup -  the championship game of Major League Soccer.  The game will air on ABC at 3:30pm EST (check local listings for more information).

6/16/04:  Switchfoot will be on Pepsi Smash tomorrow night on the WB at 8/7c. If you miss it, the show will re-air Sunday evening (check local listings for time).

On April 4th, Switchfoot Karaoke Vol. 1 will release wherever Christian music is sold.  The CD will feature 4 popular Switchfoot songs in karaoke form complete with the on-screen lyrics (when played in a karaoke machine), as well as the 4 original cuts of each song.

Next month, Switchfoot will be making 2 more television appearances. On March 12th, they will be performing "Dare You To Move" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno!! And on March 16th they will be performing on On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.  Check local listings for air times.

1/21/04:  "Meant To Live" will soon be featured in an ANTI DRUG television campaign in association with Partners For A Drug Free America. The commercial will run on every major network from February through June 2004.

"Dare You To Move" will be the next radio single released from The Beautiful Letdown. The song will hit Christian radio February 6, and mainstream radio March 2.

Switchfoot will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live this coming Monday (11/24).  The show airs on ABC at 12:05 am Eastern and Pacific / 11:05 pm Central.

9/8/03: On January 27, 2004, Sparrow records will be releasing a U2 tribute album called In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa. A portion of the proceeds will go to DATA to help the crisis in Africa and also to The Awake Project (a Nashville-based organziation that connects the Church with facts and resources about the African AIDS emergency). Confirmed artists include SWITCHFOOT, Sanctus Real, Delirious, Sixpence None the Richer, TobyMac, Pillar, and more.
